Impressionist Masterpieces from the E.G. Buehrle Collection, Zurich (Switzerland)

Overview

Emil Georg Bührle (1890-1956) was a successful Swiss businessman known for being an art lover with a lifelong passion for collecting art. Today the Bührle collection is known by art aficionados for its works ranging mainly from 17th century Dutch paintings to those by the great artists of the 20th century, with a particularly superb assembly of works by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. The collection will soon be transferred to the Kunsthaus Zürich. This exhibition is being held in Japan upon this final opportunity to present the entire image of the collection prior to the transfer. This exhibition presents a selection of 64 works focusing on modern masterpieces, with the majority never before displayed in Japan. We hope that art lovers in Japan will take this opportunity to experience one of the world’s great collections of Impressionist painting.

Admission (tax included)	General 1,600 yen (Adults), 1,200 yen (College students), 800 yen (High school students) Advance/Group 1,400 yen (Adults), 1,000 yen (College students), 600 yen (High school students) Visitors who are under junior high school students will be admitted for free. Disabled persons (along with the one assistant) will be admitted for free upon presenting the Disabled Person’s Booklet or an equipment form of government issued ID. Free entrance to the exhibition for high school students from February 14 (Wed.) to February 28 (Wed.), 2018, upon presenting student ID. Advance tickets on sale from Oct. 12 (Thu.), 2017 to Feb. 13 (Tue.),2018 (sold at the National Art Center, Tokyo only until Feb.12 (Mon.), 2018). Tickets, both Advance and General, are available through the National Art Center, Tokyo (open days only), the exhibition website (ONLINE TICKETS), and other major ticket agencies. Service charges may apply. (These services are only available in Japanese.) Group tickets (for groups of a minimum of 20 people) can only be purchased at the National Art Center, Tokyo. Reduction (100 yen off) applies to visitors who present the ticket stub of a concurrent exhibition at The National Art Center, Tokyo; Suntory Museum of Art; or Mori Art Museum (Art Triangle Roppongi). For Students, faculty and staff, of “Campus Members”, can apply for group discounts.
