Autumn Maples (Adachi Museum of Art), and Cherry Blossoms at Night (The Okura Cultural Foundation). In addition to above, some homecoming works from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston will also be exhibited for the first time in Tokyo. Thus, the exhibition will provide an ideal retrospective opportunity to overview the works of the great artist who is still referred to as "The Japan's representative artist" after 5 decades since his death. As titled "A Legend in the making," this exhibition is intended to be not only a retrospective but also to provide an opportunity to inspire a new prospective for appreciating the works of the great master. Old classic works will also be displayed for comparison which have close bearing on Taikan's artistic approach. (There will be periodic rotation of works displayed during the event.)
