Boundless Creativity
CLAMP's creative process of producing new works has always been all-encompassing.
One of the representative examples is the graphic design. CLAMP has been in charge of their book design ever since their debut title, RG VEDA, which is rare for a manga artist. CLAMP later stated, "We actually wanted the title logo to be printed in gold," which shows how much care they had put into their book design, even from an early stage in their career. They have continued to create unique and innovative book designs that put emphasis on the concept of the story.
Nowadays, the special edition books that are bundled with items can be seen everywhere. In fact, these stemmed from CLAMP's creative vision. It is said that Chobits was the origin of this format, which added new value to manga books. In addition, volume 21 of Tsubasa -RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE-, released in 2007, was the industry's first special edition to be bundled with an original DVD. Creating an original animation for one volume of a manga series was a bold idea that pushed the boundaries of books and changed how they were distributed. In recent years, they were posting new chapters of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card on YouTube in six language versions two days before the official chapter release in the magazine Nakayosi. CLAMP is already striving to go global.
