This work is CLAMP's first serialized in a girls' magazine aimed at a younger audience (elementary and middle school students). It tells the adventure story of three modern-day girls who are suddenly summoned to the otherworldly land of Cephiro. There, they must fight to save the world. At the time, the success of RPGs (role-playing games) such as Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy had widely popularized such settings. However, unlike in video games where players can restart as many times as they want, this story depicts the battles of life-sized girls as something real. This approach quickly made it a popular series. The innovative inclusion of robots in girls' manga was another groundbreaking aspect. The TV anime aired from 1994 to 1995 and garnered widespread popularity across various demographics, regardless of gender or age.
