Celebrating Cultural Exchange
It is a great honor for the Embassy of Italy in Tokyo to support the exhibition Bvlgari Kaleidos: Colors, Cultures and Crafts, hosted at The National Art Center, Tokyo. This extraordinary event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the enduring dialogue between Italy and Japan through the universal language of art and beauty.
Bvlgari, with its profound Roman heritage and unmistakable contemporary style, stands as a symbol of Italian creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation. Since its founding in 1884, it has drawn inspiration from the grandeur of Ancient Rome, the vibrancy of the Mediterranean, and the richness of meetings across cultures. The exhibition’s kaleidoscopic journey through its masterpieces—ranging from historic jewelry to contemporary art—illustrates not only Bvlgari’s mastery of color and design, but also the rich cultural legacy that Italy and Japan share. The collaboration between Italian and Japanese artists, designers, and architects in this exhibition is a testament to the mutual admiration and fruitful exchange that have long united our countries.
Drawing inspiration from the mosaics of Ancient Rome and the refined aesthetics of Japan, the exhibition embodies the values of excellence, attention to detail, and passion for beauty that are at the heart of both cultures.
I am confident that Kaleidos will inspire visitors and further strengthen the cultural and artistic bonds between Italy and Japan. May this exhibition serve as a celebration of our shared commitment to creativity and as a bridge that connects our people through art.
