코분샤『백희초』(코분샤 코믹스) 1992年
만화로는 드물게 전편이 단행본 신작 그림으로 발표되었다. 눈을 관장하는 신인 ‘백희’와 연관된 사랑 이야기 3편이 수록된 연작 단편집이며, 일본의 전설같은 세계관을 표현하려고 스크린톤을 일체 사용하지 않고 붓과 먹으로 묘사했다. 원고 의뢰부터 완성까지 불과 10일만에 제작했다고는 믿기지 않을 정도로 완성도 높은 수준에 놀라게 된다. 새로운 경지의 그림 재료에도 도전한 의욕적인 작품이다.
