TOKYO BABYLON
High school student Subaru Sumeragi is the head of the Sumeragi clan and a powerful onmyoji. He spends each day rushing to resolve supernatural incidents caused by spirits lingering with regrets and people possessed by grudges around Tokyo.
Subaru possesses a pure and delicate personality. With the support of his straightforward twin sister Hokuto, and the gentle, calm Seishirou, born into a family opposing the Sumeragis, Subaru finds himself in a challenging position. Even with his abilities as an onmyoji, he struggles to resolve these incidents as he faces the societal darkness swirling in Tokyo.
However, the relationship between the trio ultimately falls apart because of the "promise." Seishirou's true motives are revealed, and the story takes a drastic turn toward tragedy.
In this dark fantasy by CLAMP set in Tokyo during the 1980s when the series was serialized, social issues such as caring for the elderly, religion, mass media, and discrimination, which still resonate today, are touched on as reality and the supernatural intersect.
