Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card

Serialized in Kodansha's Nakayosi (2016–2023)

The story follows Sakura Kinomoto, a fourth-grade elementary school student who solves mysteries and collects the Clow Cards with the help of the Creature of the Seal, Cerberus. These cards are said to bring calamity to the world if left unchecked. Following the conclusion of Magic Knight Rayearth, the protagonist's age was lowered to aim for a cuter story. It established a new milestone in the lineage of what is commonly known as a magical girl genre. Sakura's earnest personality and her growth through various trials, coupled with the fun game-like aspect of collecting magical cards, and the gentle messages woven into the story quickly captured the hearts of young girls and garnered overwhelming support. In 1998, the manga was adapted into a TV anime series. Additionally, theatrical films were released in 1999 and 2000, further expanding its popularity. The anime was also broadcast internationally, attracting even more fans worldwide. Almost 15 years after the conclusion of the first part, Clear Card depicted a new story of Sakura as a middle school student. The continuation of CLAMP's iconic work demonstrates its enduring popularity transcending time.
