SCOPE OF THE COLLECTION
The Library features books and periodical titles on modern and contemporary art, design, architecture, and related areas. The strength of the collection lies in the sizable number (over 38,000 as of January 2008) of exhibition catalogs produced in Japan after World War II.

ACCESS TO MATERIALS
The Art Library of The National Art Center, Tokyo is a non-circulating library serving the Center's curatorial staff as well as the general public.
- The Library's open stacks provide free access to resources such as basic reference materials, monographs, recent exhibition catalogs, and periodicals.
- Closed stacks materials can be paged by library staff for use in the Reading Room. Call slips from the search results page of the catalog terminals in the Library can be printed.
- Up to five items can be paged at a time.
- Some materials may not be available for consultation on the same day due to certain restrictions.

- This online public access catalog (OPAC) searches the holdings of four libraries affiliated with the Independent Administrative Institution National Museum of Art, located in central Tokyo. In addition to The National Art Center's Art Library collection, the OPAC searches the collections of libraries at the following museums.
